It is set amongst native gardens, shade trees and play areas, which adjoin the expansive Maida Vale Sporting Reserve. The school boasts a covered assembly area, library, specialist rooms in Music, Art, Languages other than English (Italian) and a fully networked computer laboratory.

Enrolment stands at around 400 students from kindergarten to Year 6 with students mainly drawn from the local area.

Maida Vale Primary School provides a learning environment conducive to the needs of all our students. We provide specialist programmes in Music, Languages other than English (Italian) and Physical Education as well as support for Students at Educational Risk. Our general programs of instruction are planned and delivered by a highly experienced, talented and enthusiastic staff of teachers.

Excellent parent-teacher support is enjoyed through the ‘open door’ communication policy. We have an extremely active P&C and an enthusiastic School Board.

We have forged strong partnerships with local community groups, combining music performances and educational displays to celebrate our student’s successes. We are active supporters of numerous charity events and promote an ethos embracing ‘generosity of spirit’ in our school community.

We are proud of the achievements and success of both staff and students at Maida Vale. Staff at this school have been nominated for Teacher of the Year Awards and many students, both past and present, have been accepted into Academic Excellence programmes, specialist art, music and sport programs as well as receiving academic and music scholarships. Students have also received many accolades and awards for participation and merit in academic, sporting and cultural activities and competitions.

Maida Vale Primary School has adopted a positive values and pastoral programme including ‘Aussie of the Month’, Care Bear awards and participation in ‘Friendly Schools’ programme.

A cultural ethos is celebrated and nurtured which is evident in the high percentage of children in school uniform, in the sense of positive school spirit in the school community and in the number of children who are descendants of former generations of students.
